Kayaks
I started kayaking in 2004 I have started going to the Caithness Kayak Club, They paddle out from Ackergill harbour during the summer months and during the winter hold training sessions in the Wick swimming pool, Also when the river level is high they paddle down the Thurso River for some white water action. Kayak surfing is also available at various points round the Caithness coastline depending on the swells. And of course they have paddles round the coast, Caithness has a spectacular coastline with lots of old castles and varied bird life. They have been lucky enough to paddle out near some Orca or Killer Whales as they are known.  I also paddle with the Pentland Canoe Club when I get the chance.

I spend a lot of my web surfing over at www.ukriversguidebook.co.uk a wealth of info for kayakers. For a comprehensive list of surf breaks check out the Pentland Canoe Club site here For surf prediction check out magicseaweed.com. For river levels check out www.wheresthe water.com
